Viva la Frida! stays three weeks longer in Drents Museum

The exhibition Viva la Frida! can be visited for three weeks longer. The works and objects from the collections of the Museo Dolores Olmedo and Museo Frida Kahlo from Mexico City will remain in the Drents Museum until Monday 18 April 2022.

Originally, Viva la Frida! end on March 27. “Due to the success of the exhibition and the temporary closure during the lockdown, we were able to continue the extension, in close consultation with our lenders in Mexico,” says museum director Harry Tupan. “Fortunately, we can now offer many Frida fans the opportunity to view this unique exhibition.”

Viva la Frida! opened on October 8, 2021 and attracted more than 65,000 visitors to Assen in about ten weeks before the lockdown. After that, the exhibition was not accessible for six weeks due to the lockdown. The doors of the Drents Museum reopened on January 26.

The renewal of Viva la Frida! means that the archeology exhibition Under the spell of the Ararat will open on Wednesday 11 May.
