VfL Osnabrück secures Maxmell Gymafi from HSV

9. Newcomer

VfL Osnabrück is pushing ahead with squad planning and has secured the ninth newcomer for the coming season. On Saturday, the third division team confirmed the free transfer of Maxwell Gyamfi, who has been a guest at Bremer Brücke for the past few days.

The central defender played in the reserves of Hamburger SV for the last two years and made 27 appearances (3 assists) as captain last season. “We have looked very closely at Maxwell Gyamfi’s sporting career. In the first week of training, our head coach Daniel Scherning and I had the opportunity to get a direct picture of him and to get to know each other. Maxwell absolutely convinced us in terms of sport and personality and, despite his previous status as a tryout player, he fitted in perfectly with the team,” said VfL sporting director Amir Shapourzadeh.
