From June 12 to 14, Veggiemania will be held, an event created to promote the consumption of vegetarian and vegan dishes, which brings together more than forty locals who will make a special dish that will be sold as a combo with a drink for $690. Nash Wigutov, @unpocodenash, chef and reference in the veggie world, was the one who curated the participating places considering the ones she usually chooses when looking for vegetarian and vegan food.
In this way, the combos can be purchased through the passline website by choosing between one of the places and menus that you want to try. A QR code will arrive by mail that must be presented at the chosen destination.
Some of the places and dishes that can be enjoyed are: Casa Mhia will offer a sandwich on ciabatta bread, a milanese stuffed with caramelized onion, bacon and cheese, cheddar topping, barbecue, tomato, coleslaw, mix of chips and lemonade; Casa Munay will have oriental corn crisp (corn base in aromatic herbs with vegetables and sauce based on sesame, peanut and soybeans (and beer; Bao Kitchen will have vegan Gua Bao Tofu “Gong Bao” (homemade steamed bread with braised tofu in gongbao sauce, peanuts, cilantro and homemade pickles) with Iced tea as a drink; Manteca Negra prepares its sourdough focaccia sandwich with hummus, pesto, dried tomato with a Korean-style kimchi, roasted cauliflower and arugula, and water with and without gas to drink; the Bodegón Vegano will prepare your Vegan Neapolitan Milanesa (seitan milanesa, tomato sauce, almond mozzarella, rice ham, tomato slices, and French fries) and Orange juice or water to drink; Floating Island Meals will offer Locro Vegan with cracked corn, legumes, lead pumpkin and mushrooms with a spicy sauce, and to have a porrón of beer or a glass of wine or soda siphon; Almacénal Comunal will have Banana Rosti with hot babaganush and canned zucchini, with red vermouth with soda ; Even La Masa will make its classic Moussaka Veggie (Greek dish, aubergine lasagna, soy stew, gratin mozzarella) which can be accompanied with ginger lemonade; Moisha will make the Moussaka Sandwich (Molded Challah + Eggplant Milanesa – Tomato sauce, bechamel sauce, gratin cheese) with Mingo Hard Seltzer to drink; and Yedra will prepare her Champis Wrap (burrito type of refried beans, sautéed mushrooms, roasted eggplant, grated carrot, cured onion and spinach. Accompanied by roasted potatoes and coleslaw) with Lemonade with ginger or Agua de Jamaica with red fruits.
This activity has the institutional support of BA Gastronomic Capital, a government program that seeks to position the City of Buenos Aires as the gastronomic capital of Latin America. Through 4 fundamental axes of food (knowing, buying, cooking and eating), its objective is to promote the gastronomic development of Buenos Aires through the generation of employment and tourism.
