The validity of the Dutch corona ticket (CTB) will be aligned as much as possible with that of the International corona ticket (EU DCC) from 8 February. This was announced by Minister Ernst Kuipers of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS). The vaccination certificate is valid for 270 days after completion of full vaccination. This applies to everyone from the age of 18. The proof of recovery is valid for 180 days after the positive test. No period of validity has yet been established for the booster vaccination. This applies to everyone.

Although the protection of the corona vaccines against hospitalization is still very high, the protection against transmission and getting sick of the virus is gradually decreasing. That is why the cabinet has decided to give vaccination certificates in the Netherlands a validity of 270 days. This validity is applied retroactively. This means that a vaccination certificate is no longer valid 270 days after the last vaccination. After a booster vaccination, the vaccination certificate is valid again.

The validity of the proof of recovery will be 180 days. This validity will also be adjusted with retroactive effect.

The validity of the proofs is automatically adjusted in the CoronaCheck app. This can take up to 14 days.

Paper proofs

Because the validity of corona tickets is shortening, paper corona tickets for entry within the Netherlands sometimes have to be reprinted. As of February 8, paper receipts must be reprinted every 90 days. Please note: this only applies to the Dutch corona tickets and not to the international corona tickets (EU DCC).

Help with the paper proof

In most cases, people can create a new proof with the correct validity via the CoronaCheck app or print it themselves via the website CoronaCheck.nl/print. Even if it didn’t work before. In addition, many libraries have a Digital Government Information Point. They can help people to get paper proof.
