Valentine’s action helps Wevelgem greener

74 couples were allowed to pick up a wedding tree this morning at the Chalet d’Amour at the park of Wevelgem. Since March, newlyweds or couples who are legally cohabiting can request a marriage tree for free. Nearly half of the eligible couples took up the offer. They were allowed to sound this morning at the Chalet d’Amour.

The project will continue to run in 2022. Couples who sign up this year will be able to collect their tree in early 2023.

Wevelgem signed the Climate and Energy Pact and wants one extra standard tree per inhabitant by 2030. This project is part of the creative way to make the municipality greener.
