Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan: blackout in the region caused by an accident in Kazakhstan
Power outages in some regions of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are associated with a major accident in the power grids of Kazakhstan, says in the message of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan in Telegram.
“As a result of a major accident in the power grid of the Republic of Kazakhstan, there were interruptions in the power supply of Alma-Ata, Shimkent, Talas, Turkestan regions and adjacent areas,” the report says.
Kazakhstan, in turn, reported that the emergency power outage was due to the fault of power engineers in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. “Due to the significant emergency imbalance created by the energy system of Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan), there was a surge in power for the transit of electricity 500 kV “North-East-South of Kazakhstan,” the Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company (KEGOC) said in a statement, which quotes tengri news.
This led to “emergency transit separation” and power outages in southern Kazakhstan. The system operator takes measures to eliminate the accident.
