Keita Endo has found a new club after his loan at Eintracht Braunschweig ended and will spend at least the second half of the season at FC Tokyo in the Japanese J1 League. On Tuesday, 1. FC Union Berlin brought the offensive player from Lower Saxony back to the capital after the 26-year-old had only played seven times there.

Endo is now moving on to FC Tokyo, who, according to official club information, have secured a purchase option from the Berliners. “Keita’s wish and the loan with a likely transition to a full return to Japan are the right solution for all parties. FC Tokyo is getting a highly motivated player; we have been offered a very good economic and sporting option. Unfortunately, he didn’t make his final breakthrough in Germany, but Keita always remained positive. We wish him only the best for his future,” said Managing Director Oliver Ruhnert.

BTSV sports director Benjamin Kessel explained on Tuesday: “The situation with Keita was such that both sides hoped for significantly more from the new loan, and of course he himself expected more playing time. We cannot guarantee him this in the future either, which is why we have come to the decision to end the loan early. We would like to thank Keita for his commitment to Eintracht and wish him all the best for his future career.”
