Under interrogation: Ali Bumaye about Bushido and Arafat Abou-Chaker

Last week, rappers Ali Bumaye and Fler were again called to the witness stand to testify in the legal dispute between Bushido and clan leader Arafat Abou-Chaker. While Fler was denied access to the Moabit criminal court due to a lack of a corona test, Bumaye testified in a manner befitting his status. Although this was able to provide further insights into the interpersonal relationships of all parties, these were of comparatively little importance for the charges.

Ali Bumaye: “I don’t know how it happened”

Ali Bumaye split from his cousin Arafat Abou-Chaker in December. During the interrogation in the courtroom, however, he could not contribute much to the charges – after all, he was not present at the disputes. Bumaye said that he “actually got along well with Bushido” until the dispute between Bushido and his cousin Arafat Abou-Chaker. At least up to the point at which Bushido would have started insulting him and telling stories. He added: “I don’t know how it happened.”

Bumaye also referred to due payment obligations that Bushido had not yet paid. In the process, he turned directly to Bushido and asked: “Why don’t you just give me my money?” It is known that two exclusive artist contracts between Bushido, Ali Bumaye and Arafat Abou-Chacker have been concluded. One of the contracts has meanwhile been destroyed. However, Bushido’s lawyer was able to present another copy of the contract in court.

The impulse for the business separation between Bumaye and his cousin was mainly set by Arafat. He wouldn’t have wanted to have anything to do with music for a long time. Ali Bumaye said he felt this was a “blessing” as he was said to have been dissatisfied with his business for a long time.
