Hoeneß raves, Leverkusen rages: Can Bavaria speak so offensive about Wirtz, even though he is not even on the market?
Does the transfer poker around Florian Wirtz still develop to an open exchange of blows between Bayer Leverkusen and FC Bayern Munich? While Bavaria Honorary President Uli Hoeneß publicly raves about Wirtz as a “wish player”, Leverkusen’s managing director Fernando Carro reacts annoyed and accuses the record champion “Show” and unprofessionalism.
So far, there is no offer from Munich – but the verbal advances provide tensions.
Bavaria’s sports director Max Eberl is unimpressed by Carro’s criticism: “We live in a free world, you can express it. But personally it didn’t affect me because I was very reserved in the cause.” According to his own statement, Eberl deliberately stays out of public discussions and refers to the statements of Hoeneß and Rummenigge, which very much appreciate the player.
The debate still raises questions. Especially these:
Is it appropriate that someone from FC Bayern repeatedly comments on Florian Wirtz?
