According to the Suspіlne publication, which studied the candidates’ profiles during the selection, the performance took place at a private event for Ukrainians in Crimea, and the border was crossed from Ukraine. Thus, the singer did not violate either the law or the rules of the competition.

However, on February 15, the State Border Service of Ukraine stated that it had not issued the artist a certificate of legal crossing of the border with Crimea, handed over “Suspile”. “We do not know what kind of document was published [Общественным] broadcaster, because the divisions of the State Border Service did not create such a one and did not provide it to anyone under such a number, ”said Andrei Demchenko, a representative of the department.

pash statedthat a member of her team received the certificate. “What did I see? Help. Looks official. It contained the actual dates of entry into the temporarily occupied Crimea, correctly indicated at the Chaplinka checkpoint, through which I crossed the administrative border. No one from the team had any reason to believe that the certificate was not real, ”she said.

Pash added that she was ready to help law enforcement agencies and the court in finding out the origin of the document, and apologized. “I understand that a person from my team was driven by a desire to help, but this kind of help is unacceptable,” she concluded.
