Uber settles with Google over former employee who stole trade secrets

Uber has reached a settlement with Waymo, a subsidiary of Google that makes self-driving cars. The case concerns former employee Anthony Levandowski, who stole Waymo business secrets when he switched from Waymo to Uber in 2016. Uber will pay a “substantial portion” of the $120 million ($106 million) Google owes Levandowski as part of the settlement.
