Two men from Groesbeek stuck for accident street race in Beugen

Two men (20 and 21) from Groesbeek are suspected of causing the accident that took place on Monday evening during a street race in Beugen. Both men were street racing and collided with a third car on Roman Street. The 20-year-old man and a pregnant woman were injured. The woman was driving the third car, but had nothing to do with the street race. She broke her femur and was taken to hospital.

The 20-year-old was admitted to the Radboudumc in Nijmegen. He has not yet been arrested because he is injured. He is suspected of being involved in the accident.

On Saturday, police announced that a second suspect had been arrested. It concerns a 21-year-old man from Groesbeek. He has been arrested for reckless driving and involvement in the accident.

Footage of the street race could be seen at Dumpert. Police said it was likely a street race. There are also signs that street races are being held more often. The police ask witnesses of street races to report this to the emergency number 112.
