Two men arrested after dangerous copper theft in Haarlem

The police arrested two men last night for theft of copper from a transformer house. The suspects are still in custody at this time.

Last night, around a quarter past two, the police received a report of possible copper theft on the street De Mooi Nelweg in Haarlem. Be of the police upon arrival two men (30 and 35 years old) were arrested at a transformer house where the copper could be found.

The two men are currently still in custody at the station, the police spokesperson reports.

Not the first time

Haarlem has been plagued several times by copper thieves. For example, in August a 47-year-old man from Haarlem was arrested for the theft of copper cables from the elevators of several apartment buildings.
