In France today around forty cheeses, including Camembert, Goat cheese and Gorgonzola, were recalled from the mission by the possible presence of Listeria. The products were sold at the French supermarket Carrefour, among others.
That happened after several cases of infection with the Listeria bacterium were determined. The health authorities in France report 21 confirmed cases. Two people died from Listeriosis.
The recalled cheeses were produced in the Chavegrand-Kaasfabriek in the French department of Creuse. The factory reports to the AFP news agency that the cheeses were produced in June as part of a production line that is now closed. There was already another recall in June. Consumer organization Foodwatch asks the government to take measures.
