TV tip: Here you can see Tina Turner in “Mad Max 3”

The singer plays the antagonist Aunty Entity in George Miller’s 1985 apocalyptic film.

Tina Turner passed away on Wednesday May 25 at the age of 83. She was not only one of the world’s most successful singers, but also a sought-after actress. One of her biggest roles is as the Aunty Entity in the third installment of the dystopian Mad Max series, Beyond Thunderdome. The film will be shown on German television in May and June 2023 in her honor.

On May 30, the strip will be broadcast twice on “Sky Cinema”: First time at 11:15 a.m., second time at 6:25 p.m. The station will broadcast it again on May 31 at 1:35 am.

In June he will appear in the TNT Film channel on the 16th at 8:15 p.m. and on the 17th at 5:55 p.m.

In the film, which was released in 1985, Tina Turner embodies Max’s enemy, a despot by the name of Aunty Entity. Her rocked survival look, part Stone Age man, part Amazon, has become an iconic fashion statement. Turner even kept the costume for her stage shows, and her dancers also dressed in the same way.

Tina Turner was at the peak of her success when filming began – the 1983 album “Private Dancer” became her first worldwide solo hit after breaking up with Ike Turner. For the “Mad Max” soundtrack, composed by Maurice Jarre, she contributed two songs: “One of the Living” and “We Don’t Need Another Hero”. A children’s choir sings along in the song – it stands for the (film) orphans living in the desert, who reply to Max: “We don’t need another hero”. They don’t believe that he can still help them in this lost world. The song was another success: number one in Germany and Austria in July 1985, a summer hit; No. 2 in the UK and Switzerland; Third place in the US.
