Travis Scott scandal: Fans are said to have manipulated the online petition

Travis Scott’s fans want to ensure that he can perform at the Coachella festival as originally planned, despite the cancellation of the organizers. Numerous signatures were collected for this. Now the online platform change.org has found significant violations of the community guidelines, which the petition can be declared invalid.

Canceled due to mass panic at Astroworld festival

The background to the cancellation is the mass panic at the Astroworld Festival on November 5, 2021. This had developed into a tragedy in which hundreds of people were seriously injured and ten more were killed. The cause of death of the victims was largely given by coroners as asphyxiation. Scott, he claims, feels responsible for this and is now making it his mission to do more to keep festivals and concerts safe. This should be done in the form of a committee.

Fake signatures exposed on petition

Despite all this, some fans still do not want to believe the canceled Coachella appearance. To bring the rapper back into the line-up, they collected more than 70,000 signatures in just a few days. Until the number of signatures suddenly dropped to 5,000 overnight. This enormous waste came under closer scrutiny. According to representatives of the online petition platform change.org, “fraudulent activities” then became apparent. Many of the signatures were fake signatures. As a result, the petition was removed from the change.org platform.

The Coachella Festival will be held in Indio, California over two weekends starting in mid-April this year. Ye (Kanye West), Billie Eilish and Harry Styles are set to headline.
