C.obas, UBS and Cub have proclaimed for today 8 March a general strike in the main Italian cities, from Rome to Milan to Turin. The motivation: «Against the rampant exploitation in particular of female labor».
But come on Twitter the brawl breaks out: “Striking on March 8 will only make the lives of the women you think you are paying homage to even more difficult and tiring“. So helping women by putting women in difficulty, a paradox that could only end in controversy.
The strike of 8 March
“On March 8 we strike and demonstrate throughout Italy,” reads the a note released by Cobas complete with an appeal to male and female workers. The acronyms intend to manifest in the streets against «the growing violence against womenconnected to gender discrimination in the workplace and in society “.
And, again, against “the exploitation of female labor in particularsubjected to more layoffs and forced part-time, more precarious and lower wages, with increasingly distant and miserable pensions ».
Not the right way
Good intentions but bad idea that of demonstrating by making it difficult for all women who use the means to move. On Twitter the hashtag #sciopero is trending and the comments are increasing.
