A motorist crashed into a mobility scooter at the border crossing with Germany near Schoonebeek. The accident happened on Lauensteinstraat (N853). Other traffic in both directions has been delayed as a result.
The driver of the mobility scooter was treated in an ambulance and taken to hospital for further care. The driver escaped unscathed.
Police officers regulate traffic at the N853 at the border crossing. It is not known when the road will fully open again.
