The Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of Kazakhstan recommended to suspend trading on commodity exchanges, reported department.

Because of the riots in the republic, a state of emergency has been introduced, and maximum prices for motor fuel have been set.

“The issue of the resumption of exchange trading will be considered after the stabilization of the situation in the country,” the statement says.

The doubling of the price for liquefied gas since the beginning of the year led to protests in the Mangistau region, which subsequently escalated into riots in large cities.
