A new super set from Prince is coming: The 1991 album Diamonds and Pearls will be reissued by Paisley Park Enterprises in association with Sony Music and Warner Records, due out on October 27, 2023.
A befitting fat pack in various configurations: The largest super deluxe format contains 47 unreleased tracks on 12 LPs and one Blu-Ray or 7 CDs and one Blu-Ray, as well as a two-hour concert from 1992, live from the “Glam Slam Club in Minneapolis. All together makes 75 audio tracks. Everything also in the Dolby Atmos mix.
The unreleased tracks “Alice through the looking Glass” and the album song “Insatiable” can be heard in advance in the “Early Mix – Full Version”. There is also a strictly limited, numbered 7″ singles set available in the official Prince store.
The reissue includes the following formats:

• Deluxe Edition (2CD / 4LP 180g Vinyl)

Other highlights include the commercially unreleased “Gett Off (Damn Near 10 Min.)” mix, the Blu-Ray also includes Prince & The New Power Generation’s performance at the Special Olympics in the Metrodome in Minneapolis in July 1991 (also in stereo , 5.1 and ATMOS), as well as a previously unseen sound check. The Blu-Ray is completed by the “Diamonds And Pearls Video Collection”, which was originally released on VHS and LaserDisc in 1992 and has been out of print for many years.
It comes with a 120-page hardback book. It includes unpublished photos by Randee St. Nicholas and essays by author and presenter Andrea Swensson, archivist and senior researcher for the Prince Estate Duane Tudahl, British music critic and Prince expert Jason Draper, industry professor De Angela L. Duff of from NYU Tandon School of Engineering in Brooklyn and by social media personality KaNisa Williams. The introduction is by Chuck D, who certainly knows a lot about Prince’s excursions into hip-hop.
