Lizzo plans to sue ex-dancers for ‘malicious prosecution’

The singer has been sued by ex-dancers for bullying, discrimination and sexual abuse.

American singer Lizzo plans to sue her three former dancers for “malicious prosecution”. This was announced by her lawyer to the public.

The three plaintiffs made serious allegations against Lizzo in early August, including bullying, discrimination and sexual abuse, which they allegedly experienced while they were backing dancers. The rapper is said to have created a hostile work environment.

Lizzo’s attorney, Martin Singer, who has defended Bill Cosby and Charlie Sheen in the past, said Wednesday (August 23) that they “plan to sue for malicious prosecution once they [Lizzo] prevailed and these false accusations were dismissed”.

He also shared photographic evidence intended to refute the plaintiffs’ credibility. The dancers can be seen smiling with the performers of the cabaret show in Paris’ “Crazy Horse”. According to the lawsuit, Lizzo “forgot to mention when inviting the dancers that it was a nude cabaret bar.”

“These irrefutable photos and videos, along with other substantial evidence, demonstrate the glaring inconsistency between the plaintiffs’ allegations in their sham lawsuit and what is actually supported by the facts,” Singer said. The lawyer also pointed out that the three dancers returned to work with Lizzo the day after the cabaret show.

Neama Rahmani, attorney for the plaintiffs, responded to Singer’s statement: “We have addressed all of these cases where the plaintiffs appeared to have been happy with Lizzo while they were working with Lizzo. Of course, they wanted to keep their jobs. They had bills to pay, like everyone else, but eventually they had had enough of the abuse. We stand by every point in the indictment and look forward to the trial.”

Attorney Ron Zambrano, meanwhile, said his firm has now received six more complaints against the singer. On Lizzo’s side, her other dancers shared an open letter expressing their support for their employer.
