After two assists at the start, Timo Werner has now scored the first goal in the Tottenham Hotspur jersey. In the 3-1 win against Crystal Palace, the 27-year-old equalized in the 77th minute before Cristian Romero (80th) and Heung-min Son (88th) turned the game around. Eberechi Eze (59th) gave the Eagles the lead in the 59th minute.

With the seventh win from the last eleven league games, Tottenham consolidated fifth place, which could possibly be enough for the Champions League. Aston Villa in fourth place can move back to within five points of Luton Town in the evening, but have also played one more game.

At the top of the table, Liverpool FC secured an important last-minute victory on Jürgen Klopp’s farewell tour. Darwin Núñez scored the 1-0 winner in the away game against Nottingham Forest in the 99th minute. The Skyblues are temporarily four points ahead of Manchester City and will play in the city derby against United on Sunday.
