Fortunately, there are quite small and easy ways to save electricity in the kitchen.

2. Cook in little water. A large amount boils more slowly than a small amount and therefore consumes more energy.

3. Use a kettle, as it uses less energy than a stove. With the kettle, you can get the water to boil quickly, and then you can pour the water into the pot. It shortens the use time of the heater.

4. Remember to use a lid on the pot or frying pan. It saves you energy and time. Food heats up faster when the heat does not evaporate from the pot.

5. Chop, for example, root vegetables and meat into smaller pieces, because small pieces cook faster than large blocks.

6. Do more at once. Then you save both energy and your own effort.

7. I use the heat of the oven efficiently. If you prepare oven food, have a baking day at the same time. Or make several dishes at once. Also take advantage of pre- and post-heating.

8. A convection oven is more energy efficient than a top and bottom heating oven. It doesn’t need to be preheated, a temperature 20 degrees lower is enough for frying and you can bake several trays at once.
