This is how FC Bayern plans without France’s World Cup driver Pavard

The French national team are currently on top, having reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup with a deserved 3-1 win over Poland on Sunday. Defender Benjamin Pavard, who spent another 90 minutes on the bench, didn’t have much to do with it. Things could also get uncomfortable for him when he returned to FC Bayern after the World Cup.

The 26-year-old’s own statements that he can definitely imagine changing clubs in the future have long since turned out to be an own goal.

FC Bayern itself could soon say goodbye to efforts to extend the contract prematurely, as is now also the case in a report by “sky” was called.

According to the broadcaster, the plans for the German record champions are now going in the opposite direction. Should a reasonable offer come in for the 2018 world champion, who has been under contract with FC Bayern since 2019, the Munich team would seriously consider selling.

Internally, those responsible should be of the opinion that the position of right-back with Noussair Mazraoui, Josip Stanisic and alternatively Konrad Laimer would also be of sufficient quality in the event of a Pavard sale.

The latter is said to be close to a move from RB Leipzig to FC Bayern. In addition to his preferred position in the central defensive midfield, Laimer can also be used on the defensive right flank.

Pavard is contractually bound to FC Bayern until 2024. There had been different information about the status of talks about extending the contract even before the start of the World Cup.
