Wendy van Dijk falls even further with her ratings flop Liedje Op Het Eerste Vlieg on SBS 6. Tina Nijkamp, former boss of the channel, is concerned: “This costs a lot of money.”

Wendy van Dijk’s career is in dire straits. Very bad weather. Some people, such as Marc-Marie Huijbregts, find that funny, but it is a personal drama for the presenter. The chance of a Talpa exit is slim because of her husband’s top position in the company, but her status as an A-star is seriously wavering.

Wendy collapses

Song On The First Face, her current ratings flop, continues to struggle. After 463, 381, 345, 359 and 321 thousand viewers, the sixth episode only scored 279 thousand viewers (5 percent) on SBS 6 yesterday. With that, Wendy and her co-host Edsilia Rombley did not attract enough viewers for a place in the ratings top 25.

Tina Nijkamp, the former channel boss of SBS 6, thinks it’s spicy. “John de Mol is experiencing a real disaster week with his own formats from a viewing figure perspective. After the very disappointing start on Thursday of his new format Kookklunzen (with Gordon and Herman), Wendy and Edsilia’s Song On the First Face now dives under 300 thousand viewers.”

‘Costs a lot of money’

Even with the World Cup as a competitor – the quarter-final between England and France attracted 2.5 million viewers (49 percent) to NPO 1 – this is too meager, according to Tina. “It is not only too little for prime time, but that also costs a lot of money,” she explains to her ratings juice channel.

Why? “With these scores, the format will not be sold to many countries and the advertisers surrounding the program must also be compensated considerably. It is striking that so many of John’s formats just don’t want to succeed on SBS 6.”

Ozcan scores

Özcan Akyol managed to score well against the World Cup. His program Sterren op het Doek scored 716 thousand viewers (13 percent) on NPO 2. This is followed by the RTL 4 titles The Big Show with Ruben Nicolai (571 thousand and 11 percent) and VriendenLoterij Miljonairs (558 thousand and 11 percent).

Tina: “Very disappointing for Ruben who scored no fewer than 250,000 more viewers with The Masked Singer on Friday compared to the quarterfinals of the Dutch national team (!) on Friday. Perhaps the show comes across as too contrived for viewers and you have to look for a smile too often instead of the smile already being there naturally.
