Deon Lendore celebrated the greatest success of his career almost ten years ago. But now the 29-year-old has died in a car accident. The Olympic Committee is in mourning.
Athletics mourns Deon Lendore: The 400 m sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago died at the age of 29. The World Athletics Federation confirmed this on Tuesday.
According to a report by the Guardian, Lendore, who won bronze in the 4 × 400 m relay in London in 2012 and was runner-up in 2015, was killed in a car accident in Texas.

Lendore took part in the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016 and most recently in Tokyo when he made it to the semifinals.
“Words cannot adequately express our grief over the devastating and premature loss,” said a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee.
