They exhume the body of a baby in the Sabadell cemetery to check if it was stolen

The events go back thirty years, when the mother had her daughter in a Sabadell clinic (Vallès Occidental) and shortly after they told him that she had died, without ever being able to see the body of the little girl. Now, however, the appearance in a tv show of a very girl similar to his other daughter has caused all suspicions to be raised, to the point that the niche opening to find out if there is a body inside the coffin, and if there is, to determine if it is the woman’s biological daughter.

“Suddenly, without any previous disease or sign, the doctors told him that the girl had died, and they gave him an already closed coffin, without at any time seeing the remains of the little girl”, explains Fernando Osuna, family lawyer.

Although this supposed and had some suspicion about what happened, the family continued with their lives, moving to Andalusia. However, in the 2020 a fact startled the woman.

“One day he was watching a television program and saw a participant who was nailed to another daughter he has, and he became suspicious.” It was the program Antena 3 ‘Now I fall’, where the contestant, Osuna assures, was so similar to her other daughter that they could be two drops of water.

That was the spark that ignited the procedure, which led Navarro’s lawyer to request the niche opening where they buried the coffin with the remains, supposedly, of the girl.

Collect samples for analysis

“There are indications and suspicions that it is a case of stolen baby“, Osuna points out. Months after presenting the petition, finally this Thursday the exhumation has been authorized in order to know if they actually buried an empty box or not.

The objective is, in case there are remains, collect samples to perform an analysis and determine if there really is a genetic relationship with the alleged biological parents.

“If there was no body and the tomb was empty or we found remains of someone other than my client’s daughter, we’ll start moving to find out who the girl who appeared on television is, locate her and talk about what happened,” says Osuna, who considers it a “worrying” issue. Hence, he advances that Navarro intends “to reach the final consequences.

In the event that it is determined that it is a case of a stolen baby, a case would be opened legal battle not only to recognize legitimate paternity, but also to punish those who separated the girl from her parents.

“If that were the case, the mother would file a complaint against the people responsible for the events,” says Osuna.
