Then no strike during Christmas holidays: social conflict resolved at Ryanair | Domestic

The Ryanair pilots based in our country have approved “by a large majority” the preliminary agreement that management and the unions reached last week. Didier Lebbe, trade union secretary of CNE, said this. The threat of strikes for this Christmas holiday has therefore been removed.

During a conciliation meeting at the end of November, the unions and Ryanair management reached a framework agreement. The airline’s pilots have now agreed to this. The agreement, which runs until 2027, includes an agreement to regularly increase the pilots’ fixed wages. For example, the surrenders they made during the corona pandemic are reversed. The variable salary would also increase by approximately 10 percent.

In addition, the pilots will now receive the holiday pay that was not paid in the past. Furthermore, an agreement was concluded on the adjustment of wages to technical unemployment during the corona period. An agreement has also been reached regarding sick days: the collective labor agreement stipulates that they will be paid correctly in accordance with Belgian law.

“Victory for pilots”

The agreement puts an end to the social conflict at Ryanair. In recent months, the pilots have stopped work four times for two consecutive days, each time resulting in dozens of canceled flights at Charleroi airport.

“Thanks to our thorough collective actions, the ACV has succeeded in obliging a stubborn organization such as Ryanair to comply with the Belgian social consultation model. This is a victory for the entire pilot group, which is finally receiving recognition after months of struggle,” says Hans Elsen of ACV Puls.
