The intensity of precipitation is gradually decreasing, but not as fast as we would like. Snowdrifts in the Kuban are still growing at a phenomenal rate. Even on the Black Sea coast, in Anapa, the snow layer has grown by another 4 centimeters in a day. Now its height is 18 centimeters.
In Krymsk, snowdrifts have grown by a quarter of a meter in a day and are now higher than in Kemerovo. But the most impressive figures are in the village of Gorny near Tuapse and the town of Goryachiy Klyuch. In Gorny, snow has been increasing by almost a centimeter per hour since Sunday morning. And now there are snowdrifts with a human height – 164 centimeters. In Goryachiy Klyuch, they practically did not grow, but they did not settle either – 113 centimeters.
At a slower pace than before snowdrifts grow in Krasnodar. And this is probably one of the few good news so far. Now the snow on the streets of the capital of the Kuban is already 44 centimeters. Since Sunday morning, its layer has increased by three centimeters. In the previous two days, the growth was from 14 to 17 centimeters. In the 21st century, snowdrifts were higher only once – in January 2002 – 59 centimeters.
According to the meteorological radar, precipitation in the Kuban continues now. Snow clouds during these hours again cover the regions of Ciscaucasia with snow. The main reason is a series of wave cyclones from the Mediterranean and Black Seas, which ensured the invasion of cold air to the south. Faced with sea moisture, this air provided great temperature contrasts, which led to record snowfalls.
Today the cold will hold its positions in the Kuban. Positive temperatures during the day will be observed only in a narrow strip of the Black Sea. In Krasnodar it will be near zero, in Krymsk and Maykop the thermometers will remain in the red throughout the day. And only in Anapa and Gelendzhik after 15:00 will stable positive temperatures be established.
In Krasnodar, about 1 mm more precipitation will fall before noon, mainly in the form of snow, after 15:00 the precipitation will stop. The temperature will fluctuate around zero. By evening, the thermometer readings will go negative, even if the snow melts a little, it will all freeze at night. In the morning, the temperature can drop to -5. In total, 2-3 cm of fresh snow can fall in the city per day. Tomorrow in the Kuban again -1 and light snow.
And only on Wednesday the weather will improve for a while. But by the end of the week, snowfalls are predicted again. Fortunately, not as powerful as in recent days.
