Insurance pensions for Russians who do not work were indexed by 5.9% on January 1. The average size will be 18,521 rubles. Also, the indexation will take place in 2023 and 2024, by 5.6% and 5.5%, respectively. Then it will reach the size of 19,476 rubles. and 20 469 rubles. The increase will affect about 30.78 million people.
Labor Minister Alexei Kotyakov said earlier that indexation is carried out in accordance with the law at a level higher than annual inflation. As of January 2020, the average insurance pension was RUB 16,789.
In Moscow, the minimum pension for non-working pensioners has grown even more – to 21,193 rubles. The corresponding decree was signed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Also, one-time and monthly social payments received by large and low-income families, children of dead servicemen, orphans and other categories of citizens were indexed by 4.8%.
