The “purple people” returns to the streets 9 years after the last garrison, to say no to the hypothesis of Silvio Berlusconi as the new president of the Republic. The appointment is in the late afternoon of Tuesday 4 January in Rome, in Piazza Santi Apostoli. The initiative is implemented on the day in which the President of the Chamber Roberto Fico summoned the Parliament in joint session, with the participation of the regional delegates: the session will open on Monday 24 January, at 15, to elect the thirteenth Head of the State.

A game that recorded the descent into the field of the former Prime Minister, who aims to be the candidate of the center-right. Berlusconi’s name is indigestible in the center-left. Now the movement returns to the streets, and once again the former prime minister is in the sights. “We were convinced that our task of democratic control, with the sentence in 2013 and the exit of Berlusconi from the institutions, was now over. But no, here we are again, forced to call a garrison … », explained Gianfranco Mascia, one of the animators of the Purple People since the first major mobilizations. The initiative was launched, with an attached poster, also from the Fb page, which is followed by over 364 thousand people.
