The peak of stupidity! Always the same man gets to do his trick

On Sunday, the men skied 20 kilometers as a free mass start at the Goms World Cup. Johannes Kläbo won the church fight.

This has been seen an unfortunate number of times in the mass starts of the Men’s Skiing World Cup. Most of the race is a numbing slog, until in the last lap some man with normal distances hits the wood in the oven and Johannes Kläbo acknowledges the victory in the final scrimmage.

Simen Krüger stepped on the gas in the final five-kilometer lap of the Goms World Cup 20-kilometer freestyle co-start on Sunday. He was able to knock the others off their heels, but not his Norwegian compatriot Kläbo.

Kläbo, tired from the illnesses at the turn of the year, took the pole on Sunday as a continuation of his Saturday sprint victory. The victory was the sixth World Cup of the season for the five-time Olympic champion.

French Jules Lapierre was third in the competition.

Perttu Hyvärinen was the best Finn in seventeenth place. He lost to the winner by half a minute. Hyvärinen was in the main group of almost 30 athletes until the last kilometers.

Arsi Ruuskanen was 38, Juuso Haarala 44th, Emi Liekari 53’s and Wiljam Mattila 75th
