The North Face x Gucci

The American outdoor brand The North Face and the Italian luxury fashion house Gucci have brought out the results of their second collaboration, which is about discovery – “the discovery of places and cultures in the true sense of the word, or rather metaphorical adventures,” explains Gucci.

The new campaign for the “second chapter” of the collaboration comes from the French twins Jalan and Jibril Durimel and shows intrepid adventurers: indoors hiking in Iceland amid black volcanic sand, grass-green hills and glaciers.

A joint The North Face x Gucci logo was also created for the collaboration, which can be seen on all parts of the collection or on a special label. It combines the three curved lines of The North Face and the green, red and green web stripes of Gucci.

“The vibrancy of the 1990s reinterpreted to revitalize the look, feel and soul of our legends. Starting with the original ’92 Nuptse, each piece is decorated with exciting prints, surprising fabrics and bright colors. This is how the familiar becomes the new again, ”is how The North Face describes the capsule collection on its website.

In addition, the collection offers an exclusive selection of coats based on iconic designs from the 1970s and featuring the latest patented technologies from The North Face. These models take a minimalist approach to performance and functionality that includes the use of ultra-light, seamless linings, a unique weave for better thermoregulation and transfer prints on a nylon base.

The North Face x Gucci collection also embodies the two partner brands’ commitment to the environment, which has led to the use of Econyl – nylon made from regenerated materials such as fishing nets, old carpets and other waste materials. This can be recycled and reused, which helps reduce its ecological footprint. In addition, 100 percent of the insulation layers meet the Control Union’s Responsible Down Standard.

The all-pink packaging with The North Face x Gucci logo was also designed with the environment in mind: cloth bags, boxes and pouches have been specially developed to reduce their environmental impact throughout the design process. The paper and cardboard used come from sustainably managed forests; in addition, the paper is untreated and therefore completely recyclable. In order to reduce paper consumption and avoid unnecessary bags, boxes are equipped with carrying handles and larger items are packed directly in cotton bags without boxes.
