There is no longer any need to put down marks about children and marital status in the passports of Russians. All this information is stored electronically in the information systems of authorities and is provided to interested departments upon request. However, marks and registration and divorce, children under 14 years old, previously issued passports and foreign passports, blood group and TIN can be put in the passport at the request of the citizen himself.

According to the amendments made to the regulation on the passport of a citizen of Russia, the period for replacing a passport by age and issuance in connection with reaching the age of 14 has been increased to 90 days. And from July 1 Russian passport can be issued in just five days. The passport form itself has also been modernized – it does not contain a “personal code”; the last page of the passport with information for the owner has been changed.

From January 2023, it is planned to start issuing passports in the form of plastic cards… The pilot regions for this are Moscow, Moscow Region and Tatarstan.
