The units of the Southern Military District (SMD), which participated in the maneuvers in the Crimea, returned to their places of permanent deployment in Chechnya and Dagestan. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, his words to RBC were transferred to the department.
“Military echelons with heavy military equipment of the units of the Southern Military District, who worked out tasks at the training grounds in the Crimea, were transferred <...> to permanent deployment points in the Chechen Republic and the Republic of Dagestan,” he said.

In addition, units of the Western Military District (ZVO) returned to their permanent bases in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. They participated in the maneuvers that took place at the training grounds in the Kursk and Bryansk regions.
The department added that they continue to transport heavy armored vehicles to the places, some of them have already arrived at the points of permanent deployment.
