The launch of the heavy carrier rocket “Angara-A5”, which was supposed to take place on Friday, December 24, from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, was postponed due to a malfunction. Reported by TASS and “RIA News” with reference to sources.

An informed source in the rocket and space industry said “RIA News”that the launch was canceled by the launch complex automatics. The reasons for the incident are being established. “At present, a state mission is working at the Plesetsk cosmodrome, which is studying the reasons for canceling the launch on Friday and deciding whether to launch the Angara-A5 launch vehicle on Saturday,” he added.

A source close to the Ministry of Defense said TASSthat the launch of the rocket was postponed due to a malfunction in the ground complex one and a half minutes before the launch. “A minute and a half before the start of the Angara, an automation team was formed to retract the launch,” he said, adding that everything was in order with the rocket.
