Train drivers from state railway company Deutsche Bahn (DB) started their six-day strike in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. It is the longest German strike ever on the railways, in a long-running conflict over employment conditions and salaries between DB and the GDL union. Train traffic in Germany is expected to largely come to a standstill.
