The Government has refused to grant a pardon to the former president of the Palau de la Música Fèlix Millet and his former number 2 Jordi Montull, both convicted of the case of embezzlement in the musical institution, sources from the Ministry of Justice have informed Europa Press.

Millet asked to be pardoned for the case of the embezzlement of the Palau de la Música after the Supreme Court confirmed the sentence that sentenced him to 9 years and 8 months in prison.

The former president of the institution also requested to provisionally suspend his entry into prison until the request for pardon is resolved. However, when the conviction was confirmed, the Barcelona Court ordered that Millet and the rest of those convicted in the Palau case be imprisoned.

Along with Jordi Montull, who was his right-hand man at the Palau, Millet is convicted of crimes of embezzlement, misappropriation, influence peddling, falsification of commercial documents and money laundering. In the case there are a total of twelve people convicted, with sentences starting at eight months in prison, with the highest for Millet.

For its part, Jordi Montull was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for his role in the embezzlement of the musical institution.
