the EA Sports FC 24 gaffe

Oversight by the EA Sports FC 24 development team, which confuses Rodri of Manchester City with that of Betis. And it is not the first time…

Small gaffe for EA Sports FC 24, which has stood out in the last few hours for an addition that is generally very welcome by Ultimate Team fans but also for an oversight which, although it has a reduced impact on gameplay, is incredible. One of UT’s first dynamic cards, in fact, wanted to celebrate Rodri’s sumptuous performances, only there was some confusion over which player was the right recipient of the recognition.

Rodri from City or Betis? —

As reported by users on X/Twitter and Reddit, the Evolvione version of Rodri’s Future Stars card currently has as its protagonist Rodrigo Hernandez Cascante – commonly known as Rodri -, the brilliant midfielder of Manchester City, reigning European champions. However, it was not the author of the goal with which the Citizen beat Inter in Istanbul who was the recipient of the “prize”, in the intentions of the creators of EA Sports FC 24, but Rodrigo Sanchez Rodriguez. Also known by the diminutive of Rodri, he is however a tall Betis winger, who is doing very well despite his young age and who precisely because of his young age found himself selected for the Future Stars promo, which recognizes the best talents in football world.

It’s not the first time —

At the moment, everything is silent on the EA Sports FC 24 social networks, including the technical support account which usually promptly reports when game errors or oversights are noticed as happened in this case. While it is plausible that a communication will arrive shortly, with the repercussions of the case on the card (whether it will be corrected “live” and/or remains in the hands of the players who obtained it is not known to us at the moment), it is worth point out that this is not the first gaffe from the EA Sports development team: a similar mistake it had happened in fact with the card in form of Trincao from Sporting Lisbon, exchanged for teammate Daniel Braganca. In short, at least this record does not belong to Rodri – neither of them.
