The cause of Jessie Diggins’ excruciating pain was revealed

Diggins had a tear in his ribs.

Skier Jessie Diggins has shared on Instagram about the ailments that tormented him at the Tour de Ski.

Diggins’ coach Jason Cork mentioned during the Tour that the American hurt her other hip, but that wasn’t the only injury she had.

Diggins wrote that there was also some kind of tear in the region of his ribs.

– The last three days of the race I was in pretty shocking pain. Breathing and equalizing hurt, he said.

– I didn’t sleep well either, and the pressure took a toll.

Diggins’ skiing really showed the fierceness of the competition, as he raced with his last strength to the top of the final climb of Alpe Cermis. He swayed as if on the borderlands of consciousness, but made it to the finish line.

Diggins said according to SVT that he panicked at the final stage because of his breathing problems.

– I didn’t feel my legs in the second half of the race. I thought I had to go on. It hurt, but I survived.

In the end, the tenacious Yankee won the entire Tour.

– The national team and my support team at home kept me together. I can’t thank you enough. The victory is due to you, he wrote on Instagram.
