The publication got acquainted with an analytical note compiled for the government, in which the Russian crypto market is estimated at $ 214 billion (16.4 trillion rubles), the amount of taxes from it is 1 trillion rubles.

The analytical note was written for the government, it provides different options for assessing the crypto market, but the authors of the document were not identified. “With reference to data from the Coinmarketcap <...> platform, the authors of the note write that the average capitalization of the global cryptocurrency market last year was $1.87 trillion, and Russia’s share in this market could be at least 12%, that is, about $214 billion, or 16.4 trillion rubles,” reports The Bell.

Not everyone in the government apparatus agreed with this assessment. The publication refers to a commentary on the note, which was prepared by the analytical center under the government. In it, the share of Russians in the crypto market was estimated more modestly – at a maximum of 13.3 trillion rubles.

Government experts have calculated that legal entities – crypto exchanges and intermediaries – could bring to the budget annually from 90 billion to 180 billion rubles. At the same time, income from taxes on investors in crypto-currencies could bring up to 606 billion rubles to the budget. All this provided that the market will grow at the same pace as in previous years.
