Last year, 79 companies in Belgium announced a collective dismissal procedure. A total of 5,762 jobs were at risk, according to the annual figures of the federal public service Employment, Labor and Social Dialogue. The number of announced collective layoffs was therefore considerably lower than during the first corona year, when a total of 9,414 jobs were threatened. The number is close to the years 2018 (6,027) and 2019 (5,087).
