It is nonsense that Suzan & Freek would be too big a financial risk for The Voice of Holland if they still work as a duo coach, says private star journalist Jan Uriot. “Ilse under the tram!”
There is a lot of speculation about the status of Suzan & Freek as new coaches in The Voice of Holland. Although metastatic lung cancer has been found with him and they initially indicated that they would stop as a musical duo, the two have announced that they would perform again. Does this also mean that their role will continue as a new duo coach?
Ilse Under Tram
It would be too big a financial risk, say media experts such as Rob Goossens and Victor Vlam. But according to private star journalist Jan Uriot, that is completely nonsense. “Then I think: there is a lot of money at that company, so they won’t matter,” he says in the podcast Strictly private.
He continues: “Then I also think: if those people want it themselves, then they just have to do it. You have to see it that way: Ilse DeLange can also come under line 9 while she is sitting there. You must always keep in mind that people can fall out. If they like it, they have to sit there.”
Quick intervene
What does Jan think of the criticism of Linda de Mol’s magazine? That is now, three weeks after the disastrous diagnosis, in stores with a carefree interview with Suzan & Freek. “I assume that this went with the duo in consultation,” said the journalist.
“They could have intervened very quickly, because the story was already a few weeks old, so Linda and her employees could easily have intervened: we will not publish this, we are going to put another story in it. I think it is just in consultation with Suzan & Freek.”
