Research ‘Delta25’ was started after an observant farmer came across the body of the 41-year-old Surinamese. The farmer saw that some of the corn was flat, went to investigate and found a body wrapped in plastic in the ground. “A branch was placed on it to make it look as natural as possible, but it did not work. He was found and we have found out as best as possible what happened to him and who was involved,” the public prosecutor said at a so-called pro forma hearing. Eight suspects are now in custody, one of the suspects is still on the run.
Conflict over money
According to the Public Prosecution Service, an argument about money was the reason for Peterhof’s murder. The man is said to have stolen a ton of cash from the home of the mother of Priscilla B., another suspect who appeared at the end of last year. The woman kept the money in her home on Bijlmerplein, but when it turned out that the cash had been replaced by fake money, the suspects decided to lure the eventual victim to the home and confront him. Peterhof temporarily stayed in that house last summer.
He was last seen alive on August 5, a week later he was reported missing by an acquaintance and his body was found on August 15.
The investigation into Peterhof’s death is still in full swing and the Public Prosecution Service still needs time to complete it. For example, not all telephones have yet been examined, tapped conversations still have to be worked out and all interrogations still have to be compared.
Murdered in home
“We know why Peterhof went to the house, who was present there, that he died there and was driven from there naked and rolled up in carpet and plastic to Belgium to be buried there,” said the public prosecutor. But what exactly happened in the house is still a question mark. Neighbors heard screams and police found 38 blood spatters.
Badreddine B. is the only suspect who has acknowledged his role. He said he was involved in transporting the body to Belgium. Once a suitable location was found, he said he buried the body with another suspect and took photos and videos.
Then there is also 44-year-old Mark V. who is suspected of having been involved from his cell. According to justice, he would have ordered the murder. 41-year-old Tieleman W. is said to have been responsible for hiring Edgar M. and Claimond M.
They are all said to have been in the house when Peterhof was killed there. 47-year-old Hugo R. is still on the run. The police wrote in December that they have strong indications that he is in Suriname and also take into account that he has fled to Guyana or French Guiana.
