It was recently announced that the Palestinian National Football Team will play solidarity matches in the Basque Country on November 15, and in the Catalonia region and Spain on November 18, in order to react to the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza and to support Palestine.
The first of the matches was played last night.
While the Palestine National Football Team was welcomed with a ceremony in Bilbao before their friendly match with the Basque region, the match dedicated to those who suffered genocide in Gaza by Israel was played at San Mames Stadium on Saturday, November 15, at 22.30 CET.
It was learned that more than 50 thousand tickets were sold for the match.
The Basque Country Football Team won the match 3-0, played at Athletic Bilbao’s stadium, San Mames.

While Spanish fans filled the stands with enthusiasm for this special match, Palestinian flags were unfurled in the stadium and messages of support for those who suffered genocide were shared with banners.
Before the match, the football players posed with a banner saying “Stop the genocide”.
Before the Athletic Bilbao – Mallorca match played in the 8th week of the Spanish La Liga, the support ceremony for Palestine held at the San Mames Stadium made a huge impact around the world, and Palestinian refugees were taken to the field and honored.
Palestine will face Catalonia in the second friendly match in Spain on Tuesday, November 18 at 20.30 GMT at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona.
