Readers of Iltalehti were able to vote for their favorite semi-finalists of the Miss Suomi 2026 competition. The winner was clear.
According to Iltalehti readers Aava Saikkonen would be the best choice for the next Miss Finland.
20-year-old Saikkonen from Espoo received more than 1,500 votes in Iltalehti’s voting. Saikkonen studies economics at the university.
The 22-year-old finished second in the voting with just over 1,200 votes Aleksandra Hannusaari. Hannusaari is originally from Kauhajoki, but now lives in Tampere. A 33-year-old resident of Tampere received the third most votes Jutta Häkkinen. He is originally from Turku. Häkkinen received more than 550 votes in the voting.
In total, more than 7,000 votes were cast.
Saikkonen tells Iltalehte that he is very surprised, but happy with the outcome of the vote.
– I never would have thought that so many votes! Absolutely wonderful, I am so grateful, Saikkonen rejoices over the phone.

The semi-finalists are currently in Rantasalmi in the heart of Järvisydäme during the More Than Beauty Academy training week. According to Saikkonen, the first training days have been a very educational and new kind of experience.
– I couldn’t even imagine how much this gives. The experience has completely surprised expectations.
Saikkonen was positively surprised by how good the team spirit is between the miss semi-finalists. According to Saikkonen, the women encourage each other and discuss every issue honestly.
Saikkonen has also learned new things about himself. He says that he already has good self-esteem, but despite this, he is constantly learning new things about himself.
– I have found my own strengths and what I still want to develop. You can always grow more.
The finalists of the Miss Finland 2026 competition will be announced in mid-August. Saikkonen has a clear plan on how he intends to clear his way to the final.
– I am going to develop myself a lot. I will make the most of this during the summer and concentrate fully. Because that final spot will come, Saikkonen concludes.
