After the debacle suffered at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against Real Madrid, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea were able to recover in Souhampton. The ‘blues’ applied a ‘set’ to those from Hasenhüttl and won 0-6 to give notice to the merengues of what they will go to look for at the Bernabéu this Tuesday.

Incidents
Matchday 32. St. Mary’s Stadium.
The ‘Blues’, on their visit to St Mary’s, got the biggest win in their history against Southampton in an exhibition of Timo Werner, who scored a brace and crashed three times with the sticks, and who received the help of Mason Mount, author of two goals, and Marcos Alonso and Kai Havertz, who completed the win.
The marker opened it Marcos Alonso, substitute against Madrid, volleying a nice dropshot from Mason Mount into the box. The Englishman did the second and Werner the third, who took revenge for his problem with the sticks to take advantage of a bad loan from James Ward-Prowse, dribble past the Southampton goalkeeper and score on an empty goal. The fourth, before the break, was scored Kai Havertz pushing Werner’s third shot at the post into the net.
The passage through changing rooms did not intimidate Chelsea. Werner took advantage of a dead ball to an empty goal, after a lob attempt by Kanté, for the fifth, and the sixth carried the signature of Mason Mount. In 55 minutes, Chelsea was 0-6 and Tuchel took the opportunity to also rest Thiago Silva and Mason Mount.
The result was already more than scandalous and Chelsea slowed down in the last half hour, aware that the important thing will be played on Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabéu. This victory, in addition to raising the morale of the squad, strengthens the third place of the Londoners.
