Students International Transition Class painting, baking and clay for Giro 555

Students of the International Transition Class of RSG Wolfsbos in Hoogeveen will participate in the national action day of Giro 555 for the victims of the earthquake in Syria and Turkey next Wednesday. The day has an extra load for them, at the school students are with family and friends in the affected area.

“My father and a lot of friends are there. Some friends are dead. That’s not fun,” says Serdar. “My family is not in the area, but I do have friends there,” adds classmate Mahmoud. “It is a terrible situation for Turkey and Syria.”

The sense of defeat and the will to do something for the victims is great with Serdar and Mahmoud. That is why they organize a market together with other students and teachers to sell stuff. And so paintings are made, key rings are clayed and Arabic delicacies are baked.
