Strike at De Lijn in West Flanders: two in five buses are not running | Domestic

The staff is protesting against management’s plans to close a number of depots. As a result, staff would have to move to other locations. The unions demand more clarity about the plans and the concrete consequences for the staff.

De Lijn announced earlier in the week that four out of five coastal trams will not run due to the strike. In addition, two out of five bus rides are canceled. De Lijn’s route planner should be adapted to this.

The unions have already warned that the dissatisfaction could have consequences for De Lijn’s timetable in West Flanders in the coming days.

A strike is also likely to happen soon in Antwerp. ACV Public Services announced on Wednesday evening that a strike notice will also be submitted for that province.
