Strike action in inland shipping suspended for the time being
The provisional agreement still has to be approved by the Flemish government on Friday, after which the unions will defend it with their supporters. Only then will it be decided whether the promotions will be definitively cancelled. The union will only provide information about the agreement when the supporters have been informed.
Due to the spontaneous strike by the personnel of the Flemish Waterway, there was virtually no inland shipping possible in Flanders on Thursday. Staff lay down in response to chronic staff shortages, affecting the quality of service and the safety of staff and citizens.
